Teh uber desk!
Anandtech.com has a review of the Lian Li F1 which is basically a really slick workstation desk with an integrated case that extends the PC to your workspace. Like I said, it looks really nice. The $3000 price tag kinda makes me pause, though.

Joe's Music Collection
My CD library listing has been updated.
The biggest news for me as of late is that we FINALLY closed on the sale of our old house and closed on the purchase of our new house as well. We're doing some work on the new house before we move in but at least it is officially ours! The only downside is that we're temporarily bunkered at my parents' house.

The little "monkey" asleep the other morning. About 5 minutes later she was sitting up and groggily saying, "Awake. Awake. Awake."

Tips for Becoming a More Courteous Cell Phone User
I found this nifty little entry on Mobiledia's site. 8 Tips for Becoming a More Courteous Cell Phone User. Apparently, July is National Cell Phone Courtesy Month. Who the heck decides these things anyway?
In any case, read it because I don't want to hear you talking to your SO about that boil on your genitals while I'm eating my lunch!

Bizarro
Well, that's weird. As far as I could tell, I didn't think my last post was getting posted to the blog. But, apparenlty, it did. Weird.
Oh, another update on my CD cataloging project has been posted, too.

Grokster gets unlikely supporter
The Register reports that none other than Mark Cuban (owner of the NBA Dallas Mavericks, media content CEO, bon vivant) has pledged to financial aid Grokster in its legal defense.
Wow!

Library update
I've updated my CD library listing.
Feel free to take a peek at what's there. I still haven't catalogued the bulk of my collection. Still working on that. Really.

X800-series ATI cards FINALLY get an AGP compatible card!
The Register (one of my favorite daily tech news sites) is reporting that an AGP versions of some of their top of the line GPU are now available. The X800XL uses a PCI-E to AGP bridge chip while the X850 XT is an AGP-native card.
I'll probably wait to see performance numbers of these cards before making any decision on whether it will be worth upgrading from my Hercules 3D Prophet Radeon 9700 Pro (which still performs more than admirably). Besides I'm curious about how these cards will stack up against the Nvidia 6600GT AGP.

Google Maps is a new feature from Google that's in beta testing. It's insanely awesome. I know this is old news by now. But, it's an excuse for me to update this blog.

G4 PowerBook speed bumps and Bluetooth update
The Register reports that Apple has updated its G4 Powerbook line of notebooks. A nice change from previous base system configs is the base RAM included, 512MB. It's about friggin' time! While 256MB might be serviceable, 512MB of RAM makes the system useable for heavy users.

Plugging myself, sort of...
InfoWorld: HyperIP boosts data-replication efficiency is a review of the new product that the company I work for has been putting out into the wild. Review is very favorable. Hey, if you can see your way to buying a few pair, please do.
